New Year’s

I wrote a haiku to welcome the new year:

The year is waiting

Tiptoeing on painted feet

I picture a young, elf-like being in beautiful, delicate clothing with flowers and vines entangling her feet.  She is peeking around a door at an old creature in a rich bed with velvet coverings, who is passing silently (but not alone, as he is kept company by many memories).

I wish you all a productive year.  May you grow closer to the LORD our God and find His grace to be sufficient always.

Before I read your description I pictured a lady / girl with painted toenails moving with anticipation into the new year. The painted feet (or toenails) representing a fresh, new and exciting beginning. Very nice haiku.
